4 Keys to Persevereance

Image
This term and year has been by far the most complicated, enjoyable, frustrating, and fulfilling that I've ever had. I must admit that 2019 was not that great considering that me and my family were homeless from January 2019 to February 2020. Various things happened and there were multiple times I wanted to give up, but I stayed focused by God's grace and mercy.  I'm so happy to report that I've completed my final term at American Intercontinental University and I'm going to be participating in the ceremony next year because it was postponed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.  If you don't know the story I'd like to briefly sum it up from where I started. I received a call from Mr. Quentin Young in 2018 several days before being evicted from my apartment alongside my husband and children. He called me on my house phone and I don't usually answer because of the spam calls but for some reason today was different. I let him know about t...

Women's Wear/3D Form

Image
This term has been the most trying by far but it has been an experience from beginning to end. My family and I have battled homelessness since January this year and it's gone on a lot longer than we anticipated it to. Nonetheless I've been focused on my studies and trying my absolute best to do well. This term I had Womens Wear and 3D Form2 (I didn't even realize I had done 3D form 1 Probably called Draping and was a transfer credit) So I've been diligently working on this masterpiece right here. Yes it's a drawing in this photo, but I'm on my way. I was determined this term that something I drew or had created already would be made into an actual design. Come on, who doesn't want to see a vision come to life? She told me I couldn't submit any old things from a previous class so I just took the time to draw it over differently and submit it as the assignment entailed. After finishing my croquis and floatin...

A Teachers HeART

Image
For the past week I've been mulling over the idea of holding personal sewing lessons and charging for my services. Since I have now learned to write a lesson plan all I've been doing is writing it out and verifying the lesson. I've been trying the lesson plan out on my daughter and so far I've realized my lesson plan had to be modified for her specific age group. Most kids her age have to work on fine motor skills, and so teaching a child like her how to draw or be steady while they sew is a big deal. Another thing I realized is that giving personal sewing lessons would vary based on knowledge of the topic. Some people might be absolute beginners, others intermediate and so on and so forth. I'd have to give lessons based on where someone is which means I'd first have to ask a few questions to my clients such as: Do you own a sewing machine? Do you know the parts of the sewing machine? What are your sewing goals?   Also asking how old each client is mi...

How to Stand in 3 Not So Easy Steps

Image
"After You've Done all you Can, You just Stand."- Donnie McClurkin In today's post I am going to discuss some points on just how to stand. One of my biggest questions to the Lord when I'm waiting for him after I've done everything I could is "Lord how do I prepare while I wait?" One too many times I've asked for a certain blessing and when the blessing came I wasn't in the position to receive anything. Nothing sucks more than praying and waiting for a blessing and then being denied access when it comes.  I honestly don't know what made me to hear this song STAND in my head. In fact my fondness of the song is not with great memory. I know it came out when I was a kid, my mothers peers ran the song through the hole as well as the radio, and by the time I was involved in liturgical dance and started going solo-guess what their main song request was?-You get what I'm saying! Honestly it's not that I hate the song, in fact I love t...

Believing In Me

"I can't make you believe in me,and neither can I make you see I'm worth fair chance. I can just believe in myself."-Shakana Borders Today I'm quoting myself! You know why, because sometimes we need to hit a point of desperation to speak with honesty about our situation. Honest to God, my family has been struggling, we've seen more points of strangulation in the spirit realm than any other family I could possibly know. We went 7 months homeless, had a new baby during that time, and are still trying to catch up on our debts. I know that there is a level of hardship you should "expect", but what happens when it's more like strategic attack. Ask the intercessors at your local praying fire baptized church. They'll tell you there's a such thing as being attacked, and that's why it's called SPIRITUAL WARFARE. Trust me, before you go getting too religious on me-saying I'm claiming things over my life, please realize that THIS ONE...
